Unfortunately, not much survived from the synagogue where Theodor Hertzel’s parents got married… : above restaurant’s entrance is a sign says ועשו לי מקדש ושכנתי בתוכם (hard to read) and traditional image of two plugs of the commandments on the rooftop from the opposite side. What is inside - Even the restaurant was closed…
Been there to see the historical building and enjoy a coffee. Except that a synagogue building was not respected as it was but without a community maybe it’s ok to use it anyway? They have nice Serbian (Turkish) coffee and desserts. They don’t speak much of an English but it felt sincere.
A memorable experience - superb food and good, friendly service. Dined late afternoon on a Sunday when the restaurant was quiet but all good!!
Tell us what you ordered and what it cost. Two or three sentences about one dish is more useful to the next person than a star rating.
